Can Hulu Save Traditional TV? | Fast Company #DD

October 20, 2009 by delsonic

Interesting story… note the mentions of Boxee and TV Everywhere from Time Warner and Comcast. There will continue to be multiple players. Also think about this – as more mobile video applications are designed for smart phones, and more smart phones include projectors (see new Samsung model: http://bit.ly/rLA3m theater in your pocket), there’s potential for everything to change a few more times before the next mainstream standard for television is established. #DD

Are Social Objects Strings?

September 12, 2009 by delsonic

If social influence marketing is indeed the direction in which communications/public relations, marketing and advertising will evolve, and social objects are its tools, might we consider that social objects are strings so to speak?  Perhaps rope is even more appropriate, made up of string, made up of twine, made up of silk, atoms, electrons and so on.  And what if a femtosecond laser knocked those electrons off…ok I need a drink.  In any case, the largest bridges have steel cables and carry lots of traffic.  This weekend as I imbibe I’ll be thinking about the intersection of social influence marketing and string theory.  Part of my research may involve Sponge Bob Squarepants.  #DD

Remastered Beatles Albums Hit File-Sharing Networks | Digital Media Wire

September 9, 2009 by delsonic

Los Angeles - Every single track from the newly remastered Beatles albums, which are due out in stores on Wednesday, was leaked onto file-sharing networks over the weekend, according to data from BigChampagne, which monitors peer-to-peer networks.

The leaked albums were first seen on private file-sharing tracker sites, according to BigChampagne, before being distributed more widely onto public file-sharing sites and music-related blogs.

Wired.com also cited a source who said the albums were first posted to the Demonoid private tracker service.

Don Cornelius to make Soul Train: The Movie

August 23, 2008 by delsonic

Read the Reuters story here.

Can’t wait for this, hope they do it right.

If he doesn’t play himself, I think Eddie Murphy would make a great Don Cornlius after his performance in Dream Girls.
