Check this out. Raydiance’s ultrashort pulse laser is being tested at New Mexico State University for the purpose of busting counterfeit gemstones. It’s hard to believe it’s taken this long for something besides a loupe to do the job. This is certainly good news for both the jewelry industry and insurance appraisal industry.
